Effective January 1, 2012, support for Collage server, RTI, Remote RTI, or RTI-E running on Sun computers will no longer be guaranteed. These Sun computers were sold during the 1990’s and 2000’s by Ohio Electronic Engravers and Daetwyler, and supported since 2000 by Daetwyler R&D Corp (now known as Ohio Gravure Technologies). The advanced age of these computers has made it increasingly difficult, and in some cases impossible, to obtain replacement parts. This situation greatly impacts our ability to provide the level of support you expect in an acceptable time frame.
We have a very limited stock of parts for Sun computers. These will continue to be offered on a first-come, first-serve basis. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee we will be able to fulfill your on-going support requests due to the difficulty in procuring the associated spare parts.
We understand that when your Collage server or RTI goes down, you cannot operate; therefore we would like to strongly urge that you upgrade to a Linux computer as soon as possible. The Linux operating system runs on standard PC hardware, and Collage software has been running on Linux for many years.
Please contact us for information on pricing and specifications for upgrading your Collage server or RTI to a Linux computer.
Note: Although Sun Computers continue to be sold, Collage development for Sun is no longer being done.
