Precision Machines for Printed Electronics

Daetwyler R&D understands the tolerances required for printed electronics, with over 25 years of experience in designing and building high-precision, sub-micron controlled machines for the gravure printing industry.

Gravure, like most printing, has steadily increased registration accuracy. Modern package designs, and high quality stamp and security printing require precise registration. Continual research and development has allowed Daetwyler R&D to not just keep pace with this move towards tighter registration, but to surpass them.

Today, we offer three different systems for the highest-quality engraving, providing the ability to engrave different cell shapes for optimal printed results.

  • Electro-mechanical system – Diamond engraving of images using electro-mechanical techniques.
  • Direct laser system – Direct engraving of images into the cylinder by laser.
  • Indirect laser system – A laser exposes the image onto a cylinder coated with photo-resist. The cylinder is then chemically etched to produce the cells.

The three systems all allow the ability to select different cell shapes to tailor the engraving to your printing requirements.
