Native PDF Workflow with Collage and RTI-R

Existing Collage/Collage-S customers can upgrade their RTI's to an RTI-R to allow a native PDF workflow or native PostScript workflow: no up-front ripping.

With the Collage PDF workflow, files remain in PDF until output at the engraver.

 

 

PDF or PostScript?

The recommended workflow is PDF rather than PostScript. PDF is the more robust format with more consistent results, and the PDF/X-1a format is best for packaging work.

Notes:

  • Only RTIs upgraded to RTI-R may engrave jobs using native PDF or PostScript.
  • For Collage client-server systems, the native PDF or PostScript workflow requires a JawsRIP license on the server, and the RIP Preview license on each client.
  • For Collage-S computers, the native PDF or PostScript workflow requires a Jaws RIP license on each CLS-S computer.
  • The RTI-R upgrade is intended for existing Collage/Collage-S customers. Current pricing for new Collage/Collage-S computers and RTIs includes the Jaws RIP.
  • PDF workflow requires Collage version 3.1 or higher.
