We are continually striving to improve Collage, especially with features requested by customers. This page highlights some of the new features added from 3.1.4 to 3.1.14.
Many enhancements to the tranScribe filters, including improved edge enhancement with AccuEdge. Line width is more accurate, for example with barcodes and fine text. Read more about tranScribe
Now tranScribing is performed in real-time, at engrave time. No need to wait for preprocessing to be done. Since you can immediately see results when soft-proofing, it is easy to change to a different tranScribe filter to see which results you prefer.
Sometimes, the image data on a cylinder requires different treatment -- such as when both negative text and positive text are on the same image. Now with Selective Area tranScribe you can apply different tranScribe values to the different areas of the image for the best final results (1).
When the layout is done on a Macintosh, drop the PDF (or PostScript) file into a hot folder to automatically create a Collage job (2). All you need to do then is set the output values: use a defaults file to call in often-used values for fastest job creation.
If you typically output tiff (for example, for Laserstar or Helio), you can set Collage up so tiffs and any additional files are automatically created when the job is complete.
You can now resize the Position Editor to be as large as you like, which also enlarges the image edit area.
The Archive Manager has been enhanced and tweaked to make it even easier to use. For example, you can print a list of jobs or other files. You can move files, instead of just copying as before. Search fan open archive or server by Job Name or Job Id. Compare an archive to the server to see the differences between them.
As of version 3.1.10, Collage is now supported on computers running Windows Vista operating system when the RTI (or embedded RTI) runs on Red Hat or Fedora.
Important! Daetwyler does not support using Windows Vista for Collage-S, Collage-E, or Collage-L when the RTI runs on Solaris operating system. (Document # 9430-0178)

Not all features are available in all Collage products. Some features are optional and require purchasing a license.
(1) There are some limitations on the filters that can be used on a single cylinder.
(2) Requires Jaws RIP license on Collage computer and on any RTI's to be used for output.
