Daetwyler R&D installs, trains, and supports all Collage products. Because the Collage developers are all in Dayton, our support staff can quickly answer your questions, whether you have a problem or have a feature request.
Collage includes all the tools you need to produce layouts for gravure cylinders, CTP films, or laser cylinders. Today's printers need the advantages of speed, efficiency, flexibility and quality that Collage provides.
Speed -- Productivity tools include templates; defaults files; automatic job creation for repetitive jobs. Read in old jobs from a CCS system.
Efficiency -- A layout created in Collage makes the most efficient use of image handling and storage, for faster processing to the output device, faster transfer to other systems, even faster archiving. Collage is designed to fit into a fully-automated line for true "lights-out" production.
Flexibility -- Use the built-in RIP or use a dedicated RIP. Pre-RIP PostScript images, or work in native PostScript. Images can be TIFF, PostScript, or Handshake. Create the layout in Collage or import the full-up layout from the design system. Collage lets you work the way you want to work.
Quality -- Collage includes tools to modify images as required by the final output method: add sharpness (edge enhancement) or gamma (gradations) curves to an entire job, one cylinder, one single image, a specific area of an image, or any combination needed. With some image formats, you can even use separate curves for CT and for LW.
Tools -- The Collage suite includes Gamma Curve Editor, Sharpness Editor, Ink Volume Calculator, CCS Archive Reader*, the tranScribe® Filter Editor, the Archive Manager, and much more.
Collage is available in two architectures: client/server for sites that need multiple layout computers storing files on a single server; and Collage-S (serverless) for sites needing only one layout computer.
When your full-up cylinders are created in a graphic desktop system, use Collage-E to efficiently set up values for output, whether to traditional EM engraver or a LASERSTAR engraver. With the built-in JawsRIP, the Collage-E computer supports full-up TIFF or PostScript workflow.
Limited to a gravure-specific subset of Collage features, this product is the perfect tool for the GS 857.
