About Daetwyler R&D

MDC Max Daetwyler AG is a leading supplier of equipment and products for the printing industry. With headquarters in Switzerland, Daetwyler has sales/service offices and subsidiaries around the world.

Daetwyler R&D (formerly MDC-Dayton) is the home of Daetwyler's Engineering R & D and Software Development groups. Our engineers and software developers work closely with our customers to create products tailored for their needs.

Our experienced personnel build and tune the advanced VISION engrave heads and design and assemble all electronic boards for the Gravostar machine. The exciting new GS 857 engraver, developed in Dayton, is completely assembled in our facility.

About Our People

Add up the number of years each employee has worked for Daetwyler R&D and it comes to about 400 years.

There's John, with over 23 years as a Research Engineer, and Matt (24+ years) designing electronics and optics, and Jim (over 25 years) in mechanical design; Kent (25+ years) installing, training, supporting and testing; Joel (14 years) helping customers on the phone; Lynn (11 years) designing software ... just a few of the talented and hard-working people of Daetwyler R&D.

Our new hires, often recent graduates from engineering schools in Dayton, add their educational experience and talents to the group. The experienced engineers mentor the newer ones as the new ones share their unique insights in turn.

This kind of broad and deep knowledge of our customers, the industry, and the various engineering disciplines is rarely matched, and provides a distinct advantage to our customers. Contact us to see how we can add our experience to yours.

Continuing Education

Our people are always learning new things, in formal education classes, advanced sminars, and on their own. Recently, taking advantage of the native-German speakers among us, we've begun a program of German classes. The first group of employees has completed beginning German. Among this group are managers, electrical & mechanical technicians, an executive assistant and one of our database wizards.
